Can You do an Apprenticeship at Any Age

If you’re thinking of changing careers, an apprenticeship might be perfect for you. You will benefit from the fact that you would constantly be improving and will have the same (if not more) abilities as others entering the workforce and you can do an apprenticeship at any age.

An apprenticeship could be for you if this is your first job, you’ve been promoted to a new role with more responsibilities or more credentials, you’re searching for a change of career, or you need to pursue a better job away from a manual activity that requires specialised skills.

An apprenticeship is more than just a means for someone to begin a career. An apprenticeship goes beyond that; it can help you develop your work, skills, and employment prospects, as well as lead you on a long journey to being an expert. It will reawaken your sense of wonder and fun.

There is no such thing as being too old to serve as a student

Since there is no upper age limit for being an apprentice, you can do an apprenticeship at any age but funding arrangements differ if you are above 24. Since apprenticeships are open to everyone, your age can not factor in being admitted.

Apprenticeship support

If you chose to pursue an apprenticeship, the employer would pay your fees to support you with your education. You will be paid for all your daily working hours and the training needed for your apprenticeship.

If you are above the age of 24, you would be required to contribute to the education costs, something you will do through an Advanced Learner Loan. If you need assistance when studying, such as childcare, housing, or course-related travel, you might be eligible for funds from the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary Fund.

Apprenticeships are not as they once were

Apprenticeships at degree level are now available; if you have experience but are struggling to step up the career ladder, the degree could be what is keeping you back. So, persuade your boss to assist you with the plan!
