Police Community Support Officer
Duration: 12 months
This is the first step in becoming a police officer. Officers are community-oriented in the sense that it is their responsibility to be present in their community. A Police Community Support Officer will carry personal protection equipment such as a stab-proof vest, a high visibility jacket, and a police radio to deter criminal behaviour.
Police Constable Apprenticeship with a Bachelor’s Degree (PCDA)
Duration: 3 years
Being a Police Constable, or ‘PC,’ requires physical as well as mental toughness. It’s arduous labour, but the rewards are definitely worth it. You will be trained to plan for the worst-case scenario and to work with your team to protect victims and residents. To be a good PC, you must be mature since you will be trusted to handle sensitive investigations and protect vulnerable victims.
