How Much Do You Earn On Apprenticeships

Before deciding whether or not to pursue an apprenticeship, one of the first things you’ll want to know is how much you’ll be paid.

How much do you earn on apprenticeships?

A typical hourly wage for an intermediate or advanced apprentice is £4.15 per hour. However, you might be surprised to learn that if you are an apprentice, your employer is required by law to pay you a minimum wage.

What is the minimum apprenticeship wage in 2021-22?

Apprentices are currently paid the national minimum wage of £4.30 per hour.

The minimum apprenticeship wage applies to those between the ages of 16 and 18 and those between the ages of 19 and up who are in their first year of employment. All other apprentices should be paid the national minimum wage for their age.

The apprenticeship wage is reviewed every April. Before April 2021, the minimum apprenticeship wage was £4.15.
