How to Apply for Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship

You may not need a degree to apply. A Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) helps you to gain and improve the on-the-job experience while still earning a degree in Professional Policing Practice at the end of the training. Many forces are currently recruiting officers in this manner; you can apply to the force of your choice.

Fewer units consider applicants via the traditional admissions phase, which involves the Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP) and a two-year probation period.

Alternatively, if you want to get a degree before enrolling, certain schools offer a pre-joining degree. If you intend to pursue a career as a police officer, search for a university that provides a Professional Policing Degree. You can apply to one or more forces as the degree comes to a close.

How to apply for police constable degree apprenticeship?

The PCDA Curriculum is a three-year programme that consists of academic modules, course work, and exams. This course is worth a total of 360 points. This course blends advanced training with frontline duties as a student police officer. A police officer usually works 40 hours per week.

According to Police Regulations, an officer can apply for part-time duty, which would be considered during the initial delivery phase. The officer will be confirmed as autonomous in the post.

If an officer transition to part-time duty after completing their probationary period, the remainder of the probationary period is prorated.
