What Age Do Apprenticeships Start

An apprenticeship is a work-based training programme for those who want to acquire new skills and gain experience in a particular sector.

Apprentices spend the bulk of their time on the job working and learning, with just a little amount of time spent studying. Apprenticeships often lead to a recognised qualification.

What age do apprenticeships start?

Anyone above the age of 16 who is not enrolled in full-time education is eligible for an apprenticeship. There are no age restrictions, although they are often aimed at individuals between the ages of 16 and 24.
