What Apprenticeships Can I Do With My A Levels

If you are studying for A-Levels, you may be thinking about pursuing an apprenticeship and asking yourself what apprenticeships can I do with my A levels.

If you want to get training for a specific vocation while still earning money, an apprenticeship might be a great alternative. There are several opportunities for you. To gain some ideas, look for current employment vacancies.

However, if you are thinking about doing an apprenticeship, there are a few factors you should consider:

  • Apprenticeship vacancies are advertised throughout the year, with varying closing dates. If you are undecided about pursuing higher education or an apprenticeship, it is usually best to apply for both. If you get an apprenticeship, you may always decline a university offer.
  • Higher Apprenticeships, which are higher education level credentials (Level 4+), are now accessible in over 40 different job sectors. Employers require A-Levels and similar Level 3 certificates as entry criteria. Search for possibilities on the gov.uk website and on the websites of companies, or apply speculatively.
  • Higher and degree apprenticeships are likely to be very competitive!
  • You may be forced to do an Advanced Apprenticeship if you lack relevant job-specific experience, even though they are the same level credentials (Level 3) as A-Levels – yet you may be able to accomplish it quicker than a 16-year-old.
  • Higher Apprenticeship certifications are not available in all areas, so check to see whether they are available in your selected field.
  • A university degree is the only choice for professions, such as a doctor, dentist, and veterinary; there is no apprenticeship path.
