What Qualifications Do I Need To Do An Apprenticeship

All apprenticeships are centred on work-based learning, with formal and theoretical education provided by a college or a private training firm. They may take anything from one to four years to finish. The bulk of your time will be spent working for the business, with some time spent at college or with a training provider. To begin an apprenticeship, you must be at least 16 years old and no longer enrolled in full-time school. So what qualifications do i need to do an apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships at the Intermediate Level (Level 2)

Level 2 apprenticeships are the equivalent of 5 GCSEs. To be approved for an intermediate apprenticeship, you must be passionate, eager to learn and have a good level of education.

Apprenticeships at the Advanced Level (Level 3)

Advanced apprenticeships are the equivalent of two A-levels. You must have 5 GCSEs or more, or have completed an intermediate (level 2) apprenticeship, to be admitted.

Apprenticeships at a higher level (Level 4/5)

Apprenticeships at Level 4 are comparable to a foundation degree. You must hold a level 3 certificate, such as A-levels, or have completed an advanced apprenticeship to be admitted.
